Hello Pinteresters!!! I get a lot of traffic from Pinterest by what I suspect are teachers looking for games to use in their classrooms. Many educators like this game, but be sure to check out the other games on my blog. Click here to more games. I don't watch much TV, but when The Big Bang Theory is on, I will be there. It's one of the only TV shows that my students and I both watch. From that show my Bazinga Game was born. It's rather straight forward in that the students are in teams, I ask questions, and the students answers them. If a team is correct they have the chance to pick a Bazinga Card and we do what it says. There are nine pockets, each with 3 cards in them. Systems of Linear Inequalities Game on Desmos

This game needs a name yet. Your help is appreciated with that endeavor. First I'll tell you how we played it in class, then I let you know what the students suggested, and finally I'll tell you want changes I think I'll try next time. Initial Rules Break the class into 5 teams. I use 5 teams because desmos has 5 colors other than black (purple, blue, red, green, and orange). Each team starts with 1 trailer (ordered pair): (0, 2) (0, 3) (0, 4) (0, 5) and (0, 6). Each a different color. The inequalities y < 1/1 x + 0 and y > -1/1x + 0 are the two inequalities. Writing Linear Equations Given Two Ordered Pairs

Here is an activity I forgot to write about. My students were learning how to write linear equations when given two ordered pairs. I wanted to help them make the connection between the algorithm and what was happening graphically. On some index cards, I wrote an ordered pair, laminated them, cut hole in them, and put a string in them to make them necklaces. I also wrote a letter in the bottom corner of each index card. As the students walked into the room, I handed them a necklace, and asked them to wear it. The students were then instructed to work with a partner to write the equation of the line that passed through both of their points. They also needed to record the letter of the person they were working with (this is pointless, but I did it so the students thought I had an answer key).
